Dishwasher Panel Integration Fit Check
This procedure defines the dimensional fit verification, alignment adjustment, and fastening check for installing a custom panel onto an integrated dishwasher. Ensures consistent gaps, level installation, and smooth door operation.
To ensure the dishwasher front panel is correctly integrated into the cabinet opening, maintaining uniform gap tolerances (±1/16″), correct vertical/horizontal level, and smooth door travel. This check prevents finish damage, binding, and callbacks.
Applies to all integrated and panel-ready dishwasher installations where a customer or factory-supplied decor panel is mounted to the dishwasher door. Covers pre‑fit verification, bracket installation, panel alignment, final torque, and functional door test. Does not cover electrical or plumbing connections.
- Disconnect dishwasher from electrical supply before removing any covers or accessing mounting points. Lockout/Tagout per CSA Z460.
- Wear cut‑resistant gloves when handling metal panels and safety glasses during drilling/screw driving. Use hearing protection if using impact tools in a confined shop area.
- Keep the work area dry and free of tools or packing materials to prevent trips while carrying panels.
- Measuring tape (graduated 1/16″ increments)
- Torpedo level (magnetic base)
- Screwdriver set: Phillips #2, flathead 3/16″
- Torque wrench (in‑lb, range 5–40 in‑lb)
- Panel alignment jig or spacer set (optional)
- Felt pads / shim stock (0.5 mm and 1 mm)
- Microfiber cloth (to protect panel surface)
