Storage, Handling & Racking Guidelines

Store White Oak in a climate-controlled environment at 35–45% relative humidity and 18–22°C to maintain target moisture content. Stack boards flat on 3/4-inch thick stickers spaced 24 inches apart, aligned vertically to prevent sagging. Use a concrete floor with a vapor barrier (6-mil polyethylene) and ensure air circulation with fans if humidity fluctuates. Do not store directly against walls; maintain 6-inch clearance for airflow.

For long-term storage (over 30 days), wrap bundles in breathable plastic (e.g., 4-mil poly with vent holes) to prevent dust accumulation while allowing moisture exchange. Handle boards with clean gloves to avoid oil and dirt contamination; use a forklift with padded forks or a vacuum lifter for large bundles.

For racking, use heavy-duty cantilever racks with 48-inch arms rated for 2,000 lbs per level; place boards with stickers and strap bundles with nylon straps (not steel) to prevent denting.
