Overview & Purpose

This data sheet provides a structured method for performing vibration analysis and shaft alignment on centrifugal pumps. Regular vibration monitoring detects early signs of bearing wear, imbalance, misalignment, and cavitation. The log captures raw readings at specified measurement points, compares them against manufacturer alarm and danger thresholds, and documents corrective actions when thresholds are exceeded. Use this form in conjunction with the pump's OEM manual and your facility's vibration analysis program.

Equipment & Safety Prerequisites
  • LOTOLock out/tag out pump motor disconnect switch and verify zero energy state before mounting sensors or making mechanical adjustments.
  • VIBVibration data collector (e.g., Fluke 810, SKF Microlog) with accelerometer, magnetic mount, and calibrated probe.
  • ALGNLaser alignment tool (e.g., Easy-Laser, Optalign) — ensure fixtures are clean and batteries charged.
  • PPESafety glasses, hearing protection, and cut‑resistant gloves. Observe all hot‑work and confined‑space protocols if applicable.
