Semi-synthetic CNC coolant is a water-miscible metalworking fluid that combines the lubricity of soluble oils with the cooling and cleanliness of synthetic fluids. It typically contains 5–30% mineral or vegetable oil, emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, biocides, and anti-foam agents. In Canadian fabrication and machining environments, it is the preferred choice for general-purpose machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It is also used in woodworking CNC routers for dust suppression and tool lubrication when machining composite materials and MDF. Common applications include turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and grinding operations on CNC lathes, machining centers, and manual mills. Storage, Handling & Racking Guidelines

Do not store near strong oxidizers or acids. For 20 L pails, stack up to 3 high on sturdy shelving rated for 50 kg per shelf. For 205 L drums, use drum racks or pallets; do not stack drums. For IBC totes, store on level concrete floors with secondary containment to capture spills. Ensure all containers are clearly labeled with product name, concentration, and date of receipt. Use dedicated pumps or transfer equipment to avoid cross-contamination with other fluids. In case of spill, contain with absorbent material and dispose according to local environmental regulations. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required when handling concentrate: chemical-resistant gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing. For use dilution, mix concentrate into water (never water into concentrate) while stirring to ensure proper emulsion. Use premixed coolant in machine sumps; do not add concentrate directly to sump without water. Maintain sump level with premixed coolant at the correct concentration.
