Workplace Inspection Program Supervisor Daily
Daily structured walkthrough procedure designed to identify, document, and correct workplace hazards before they cause injury or regulatory non-compliance. This SOP applies to all production and warehouse areas under the supervisor's authority.
To ensure the supervisor completes a systematic, documented daily inspection of the assigned work area. The inspection identifies unsafe conditions and behaviours, verifies controls are in place, and records corrective actions per the company's internal safety program and provincial OHS regulations.
This SOP applies to all shift supervisors, team leads, and area managers who are responsible for a production line, warehouse zone, maintenance bay, or yard. It covers routine daily inspections, not weekly joint health and safety committee inspections or incident investigations.
- Before inspecting mobile equipment or energized systems, ensure lockout/tagout is applied. Never bypass safety devices.
- Supervisor must wear the same PPE required for the inspected area (hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection if applicable).
- When inspecting elevated platforms or pits, use fall protection and comply with confined space entry permits if required.
- Spilled chemicals or unlabeled containers must be reported immediately; do not touch without proper training and spill kit.
- Daily inspection checklist (paper or digital form)
- Clipboard, pen, and a marking tool (sharpie, chalk, or flagging tape)
- Digital camera or smartphone for photo evidence
- Lockout/tagout kit and personal padlock
- Inspection zone map with hazard register
